Northern Plains Botanical Gardens: Flowering Fern Garden
Individual Project
Spring 2021
The project site is located in the Northern Plains Botanical Gardens in North Fargo, ND. The site was split up to each student. When the individual gardens are placed together it creates the Botanical Gardens. This garden is about 1.5 acres in total. The south garden is a shade garden using the existing trees on the site. Vegetation added thrives in the shade. The plants added lightens the garden from the evergreen tones. The north garden is a bird garden. All vegetation added attracts native birds to the garden. Bird baths, bird houses, and perches added keep the birds around for guests to view. For both areas I wanted to create organic paths through the trees with spaces for different seating options.
